Some quick news on doom 3 for all you shotgun wielding loony’s.

As we all know, DooM 3 has a very advanced graphics engine, which allows for very high resolution graphics and lighting. That doesn’t mean all our machines can run it at its highest settings without it looking like a slide show.
What you may not know is that DooM 3 is a very easily modifiable game, and that means you can get right into its engine and re-arrange things to make it run better.

Tweakguides [link] is there with a user friendly guide on how to modify and optimize DooM 3 to run at its best. Having gone through this guide with a fine tooth comb, I can tell you that following some of its instructions I got a massive graphics improvement, with a smoothed out frame-rate and much improved loading times. I went from running DooM 3 on medium graphics settings with all advanced settings off, to running high graphics settings with all advanced settings on!!! So check it out.
